Hi everyone and welcome to my Meditation for Beginners website.
I have been interested in meditation since the mid 90’s and I have tried numerous types of meditation practices.
The first book about meditation that I have ever read was Herbert Benson’s the Relaxation Response. It taught Transcendental Meditation. It’s a form of meditation where you silently repeat a mantra to yourself. I practiced it a bit but didn’t get benefits that I was looking for.
After that I bought some more books about meditation. The one book on meditation that I really took seriously was Jon Kabat Zinn’s Full Catastrophe Living. It taught the basic meditation practice of following your breath and some other meditation practices.
Since then, I have read numerous books and used apps that involve meditation and related techniques.
Meditation has helped me be more focused and more relaxed and I think it will help others as well. In fact, a lot of people are meditating now more than ever and enjoying its benefits.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
One of my values is to help improve the well-being of others through my work. Hopefully, through this site I will be able to do that.
THE GOAL OF THIS SITE
My aim is to teach people how to meditate and provide information about its benefits. I will also write about the latest resources and research about it.
